Removing latex from sculpted mold

Here is the next step for creating a spfx make-up appliance. In this step, we poured liquid latex into the mold and are ready to remove it. It was definitely a trial and error process, but we are very pleased with the results. We have already made multiple appliances with this mold, and each one turned out better than the last! These are going to look amazing in the 2012 Powerhouse of Terror Halloween Haunt! Thanks for watching!

Mold making for make-up appliance

There are a few steps in creating a special effects make-up appliance. In the last post you saw the beginning stage, sculpting the appliance out of clay. In this episode of Hauntventures, we show you how to create the negative cast/mold for the appliance. We will be posting each step showing our progress up until the finished product.
