Here is the next step for creating a spfx make-up appliance. In this step, we poured liquid latex into the mold and are ready to remove it. It was definitely a trial and error process, but we are very pleased with the results. We have already made multiple appliances with this mold, and each one turned out better than the last! These are going to look amazing in the 2012 Powerhouse of Terror Halloween Haunt! Thanks for watching!

There are a few steps in creating a special effects make-up appliance. In the last post you saw the beginning stage, sculpting the appliance out of clay. In this episode of Hauntventures, we show you how to create the negative cast/mold for the appliance. We will be posting each step showing our progress up until the finished product. The appliance we are creating here will be used in the 2012 Powerhouse of Terror. If you have any questions about creating a prosthetic, we would be happy to help as best we can!

Ever wonder how we create those wonderful monsters you see inside the Powerhouse of Terror? In this episode of Hauntventures, we show you how we sculpted a special fx make-up appliance that will be used to turn one of our actors into a disgusting creature in the 2012 haunted house. Prosthetics are a great way to add some authentic detail and gore to a character, and although there are some really amazing pieces on the market, making your own can allow you to create exactly what you are looking for.

There’s nothing more rewarding than hearing people scream. At least not for the Powerhouse of Terror scare team. We like to seize every opportunity we can to scare up some Halloween fun, so why not the Lakeshore Santa Claus Parade? What a perfect setting for our creepy elves to spook things up! Have a look at this episode of Hauntventures, and see the scare team having some fun, wishing everyone a Scary Christmas from the Powerhouse of Terror.
